AT ONE point, you could find the opening sequence with that bumpy ride over downtown with that gorgeous shot of City Hall as centerpiece, but alas no more.
This trailer is pretty good on its own, it sums up the mood and feel. Steve didn't see it coming . . . but he should have.
When reading over this post, specifically the bumpy ride into downtown, I recalled a video my close friend from London showed me, just a few days ago. The video is black and white, and takes a slow trip down San Francisco's Market street just before the great fires - toward the ferry building aka down the hill. I am often brought to a state of deep wonder at the site of such old footage, and having an innate connection with the Bay Area, cannot help but feel a tightening in my chest...cause of pride, and a strong longing to experience such an existence. Seeing Los Angeles in a similar circumstance, although having no innate connection with the city itself, moves me to think of those Angelinos who feel the same way I do about my beautiful San Francisco. Hopefully those same people feel something while watching the video...

This sounds great. I know what you mean. There is something we all feel sometimes that can't be put in words, but when it's visually articulated something else happens. I will definitely check out the S.F. video -- that is my second home and my second love. Thanks for posting this!
